A Sunday Adventure: Riding the Scenic Hell Bender 28 through Nantahala Gorge

There’s nothing quite like a Sunday adventure on a motorcycle. This Memorial Day weekend, two bikers set out on a ride through the beautiful Nantahala Gorge and Hellbender 28 in Murphy, North Carolina. The ride was full of twists and turns, and stunning views that made their hearts race with excitement. Let’s take a look at their journey and the stops they made along the way.

The Ride Begins

The two bikers met up early Sunday morning, fueled up their bikes, and hit the road. As they rode through the Nantahala Gorge, they were greeted with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the rushing water of the Nantahala River. The winding roads were a thrill to ride, and the cool morning air was refreshing.

Hellbender 28

As they continued on their journey, they made their way onto Hellbender 28, a scenic byway that’s famous for its twists and turns. The road was both exhilarating and challenging, with hairpin turns and steep inclines. The two bikers were up for the challenge, and they pushed themselves and their bikes to the limit.

At one point, they had to slow down for a family of deer that had wandered onto the road. They took the opportunity to catch their breath and admire the beauty of the forest around them.

The First Pit Stop

After riding Hellbender 28, the two bikers made their way to the Hot Spot Gas Station in Franklin. They took a break to stretch their legs and grab a quick snack before heading back out on the road. From the porch of the gas station, they had a stunning view of the surrounding mountains near Haysville.

Meeting Logan

While they were refueling their bikes, a biker rode up on a custom sporty chopper. He introduced himself as Logan and asked if they had a spare rear tire. Unfortunately, they didn’t have what he needed, but they chatted for a bit about their journey so far and the joys of riding.

Logan, being a local, offered some advice on the best routes to take in the area. He suggested they take a detour on their ride back and take in some of the gorgeous views along the way.

A Cookout with Family

Despite the setback with Logan’s tire, the two bikers were determined to make it back to the house safely. They pushed on, taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the winding roads that led them home. When they finally arrived, they were greeted with the warm embrace of family and the smell of a cookout in full swing.

The rest of the evening was spent sharing stories and laughter with family, and talking about the adventures they’d had that day.

It was quite an adventure, but the two bikers made it back home safely after riding through the beautiful Nantahala Gorge and Hellbender 28. The scenic views and winding roads gave them a rush of excitement and a sense of accomplishment. They met a local biker, Logan, who was kind enough to offer some advice and make their journey even more memorable.

Despite the challenges they faced along the way, the Sunday adventure was a success. The two bikers will always remember the thrill of the ride and the beautiful scenery that surrounded them.
